Perhaps the most talked about spitting incident in sports occurred on one of the greatest television shows of all time, “Seinfeld.”
Kramer and Newman accuse Keith Hernandez of spitting on them during a Mets game at Shea Stadium in the 1980s. Jerry, who idolizes Keith Hernandez and wants to make a good impression, supports a JFK assassination-esque "second-spitter theory."
Seinfeld said this 1992 episode of the show, called “The Boyfriend,” is his favorite of the entire series.
