Sam Bradford/Austin Davis 2012 summary:
Even without much of a supporting cast, Bradford was much better than in an injury plagued 2011 season. He finished with a middle-of-the-road quarterback rating of 82.6 with 21 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Outlook:
For the first time since entering the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick in 2010, Bradford will be working with the same offensive coordinator (Brian Schottenheimer) for a second consecutive season.
“When you stay in the same system over time, you feel much more comfortable,” Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said at the NFL Scouting Combine. “One can only imagine what it's been like for him for the last few years going through three different offensive philosophies and systems.”
Fisher also said Austin Davis, an undrafted rookie free agent from Southern Mississippi in 2012, is his projected backup with incumbent second-stringer Kellen Clemens relegated to a third-string spot if re-signed. —Alex Marvez
