Joe Charboneau: Cleveland Indians
In 1980, a rookie named Joe Charboneau electrified the city of Cleveland. Not only did he hit 23 home runs, knock in 87 runs and earn Rookie of the Year honors, his off-field eccentricities solidified his legend. There were tales of him drinking beer through his nose, being a direct descendant of Sacagawea's husband and fixing a broken nose with a pair of pliers and a few shots of Jack Daniels. The legend was short lived, however, as he injured his back in spring training the next year, was demoted to the minors in his sophomore season, and was out of baseball by 1982. —Johnny Goodtimes (AP Photo/Mark Duncan)
