Two weeks are almost in the books and at least three things are clear: Eli Manning is good, something strange is happening in Arizona and Philadelphia, and Dan Dierdorf still confuses me.

49ers 27, Lions ... OK, enough already. Somebody check Jim Harbaugh’s DNA and make sure he’s not Harry Houdini. Because the old Alex Smith has gone missing and in his place is a confident, cold-blooded passer wearing No. 11. And that’s just half the story. San Francisco’s defense is scary good. Steelers 27, Jet... If you put a ton of stock in the Jets' opening week win over the visiting Bills, you're not going to get very far in this business. At Pittsburgh the Jets experienced some blown calls (Rex Ryan might contend), poor execution (Mark Sanchez was 6 of 17 in the second half), and a lot of Big Ben. Eagles 24, Raven... Dan Dierdorf must have said it a dozen times. Through two games, the Eagles have committed nine turnovers. And through two games, the Eagles are 2-0. For some perspective, an Alex Smith-led offense lost the football only five times the entire 2011 season. With Gates scratched due to injury, Rosario stepped in and found the end zone three times against a confused Titans secondary. Brandon Weeden (26 of 37, 322 yards, 2 TDs) and Trent Richardson (19 rushes for 109 yards and a score) shook off their rookie slumps and displayed the kind of talent reminiscent of their years at Oklahoma State and Alabama. Receiver Josh Morgan will field much of the blame for his costly unsportsmanlike penalty (Billy Cundiff is good but not 62-yards good), but the Redskins know it wasn't one play that brought about their first lost of the season.
