But thanks to the dynamic play of rookie point guard Ricky Rubio and the enormous production of forward Kevin Love, Minnesota is 17-17 and one game behind Portland for the No. 8 seed in the West. 8. Anything Left... Boston's Big Three of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce won a title in 2009, reached the Finals in 2010 and went 56-26 last season. But age and injuries have taken their toll on the Celtics, who are 15-17 at the break. 7. Planting a Se... The Thunder already own a three-game lead over the second-place Spurs in the Western Conference, but it would behoove them to earn home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. 5. Battle for LA The Lakers have owned Los Angeles for almost all of the last three decades despite sharing an arena with the Clippers. But that all changed when the NBA approved a Chris Paul trade to the Clippers after nixing one to the Lakers. But nothing has fascinated NBA fans and the general public quite like the tale of Jeremy Lin, the Taiwanese-American point guard from Harvard who saved the New York Knicks' season.
