Andrew Bynum Sign with Cavaliers
Andrew Bynum agreed to a two-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers that can be worth as much as $24 million.
John’s Take: The move isn’t as much of a risk as it may seem. Sure Bynum missed all of last season with a nagging knee injury and horrific hairstyles. But now he has the opportunity for a fresh start on a team that does not have immediate playoff expectations.
This was a smart deal for a variety of reasons. Only one year of the contract is guaranteed. If Bynum isn’t able to rebound from injury, the team can part ways without significantly impacting its future. It also alleviates the pressure on rookie forward Anthony Bennett to produce at a high level right away. (AP Photo)
