Jrue Holiday Traded to Pelicans
No one expected the Sixers to part ways with the All-Star point guard. Philadelphia traded the rising star for the rights to rookie Nerlens Noel and a future first-round pick.
John’s Take: The Sixers are really taking a chance with this one. They are banking on Noel being able to recover from a knee injury that cut short his freshman season at Kentucky. The team has its fingers crossed that rookie Michael Carter-Williams can replace the talented Holiday.
The Pelicans are the true winners in this one. They get an All-Star to distribute the ball to Eric Gordon and Anthony Davis. As long as Holiday can keep his turnovers down, the Pelicans will surprisingly be a team to watch next season. (AP Photo/Tony Dejak)
