AL Rookie of the Year
Will Myers (Tampa Bay Rays): There have been a number of rookies who have made an impact in the American League this season, but no candidate has been a complete standout like last year’s winner Mike Trout. However, Will Myers has shown ability at the plate that has drawn comparisons to his All-Star teammate Evan Longoria. The rightfielder has 8 HRs, 30 RBI with .329 BA/.382 OBP/.529 SLG in 40 games this season. If he can avoid getting figured out by pitchers late in the season, the 22-year-old has what it takes to be the top AL rookie. His closest competition is probably teammate Chris Archer, just the latest pitching prodigy in the Rays' system. (AP Photo/Scott Iskowitz)
