Andrew McCutchen (Pittsburgh Pirates): The 2013 NL MVP race has not been as clear cut as past seasons. No player in the league has a stat line comparable to Cabrera or Chris Davis in the AL. However, McCutchen is having a strong all-around season -- 15 HRs, 64 RBI, 23 steals, .309 BA/.381 OBP/.502 SLG -- and is a major reason why the Pirates are currently in first place and in position to make the playoffs for the first time since 1992. McCutchen will battle with Yadier Molina (8 HR, 54 RBI, .330 BA/.374 OBP/.479 SLG) and breakout star Paul Goldschmidt (26 HR, 89 RBI, .300 BA/.392 OBP/.550 SLG) down the stretch, but if he continues to produce and Pittsburgh takes the NL Central, expect McCutchen to take the crown.
