1998 New York Yankees
The Yankees set an American League record for the most wins in a single season with a 114-48 record, and finished 22 games above the second-place Red Sox. That season saw David Wells throw a perfect game against the Twins, and Bernie Williams win the batting title with a .339 average. The season would end with the Yankees hoisting their second World Series trophy in three years and the second of four in five years. (AP Photo/Lou Requena, file)
