The Best College Basketball Teams for the Money
The Butler Bulldogs easily claim the top spot after two consecutive NCAA National Championship Game appearances. Butler spent just $2.7 million a year on basketball, well below the average $4.4 million spent by the ten teams on our list. The Bulldogs also appeared in 13 tournament games since 2009, the most tournament games played by any team in that time period. Connecticut (No. 6) defeated Butler in last year's championship game, and the Huskies had the highest basketball expenses on our list with an average $7.4 million spent each season. North Carolina, the other team on our list that has been crowned champion within the last three years, ranks No. 10 and has the second-highest total expenses with $6.9 million. The two schools are the only on our list with average expenses over $6 million. (Getty Images)
