1. Denver Bronco... The most well-balanced team in the NFL. Denver finished with a top 5 offense and defense. They also have home-field advantage and Peyton Manning. (AP Photo/Patrick Semansky)

2. New England P... This is the postseason and the Patriots have Tom Brady. That is pretty much all you need to know. The only thing that can stop New England is its awful secondary. (AP Photo/Elise Amendola)

3. San Francisco... San Francisco's waited all season for this after the way things ended last year. The 49ers are built for the postseason, too. In fact, they are the only serious contender without a star quarterback. They have the defense, running game, and special teams to make up for Colin Kaepernick's inexperience. 4. Atlanta Falco... Atlanta was the best team in the NFC during the regular season. None of that matters now. Matt Ryan and the Falcons need a postseason victory before anyone can get too excited about their prospects. I do like that they have home-field advantage. 5. Green Bay Pac... My preseason pick to win the Super Bowl is now only my fifth favorite to take home the Lombardi Trophy. Green Bay's defense (Sunday was vs. Joe Webb and the Vikings) and offensive line are suspect. 6. Houston Texan... Houston stumbled through the second half of the season. A win at home over the Bengals doesn't erase that. It might all be different if the Texans had a healthy Brian Cushing dominating on defense. (AP Photo/Eric Gay)

7. Seattle Seaha... Seattle is the hottest NFC team remaining. Still, they have to win in Atlanta and then defeat San Francisco or Green Bay on the road to reach the Super Bowl. Good look with a rookie quarterback, even though Russell Wilson has been tremendous this season. (AP Photo/Matt Slocum)

8. Baltimore Rav... Baltimore was my AFC preseason pick for the Super Bowl. And while they still have talented players on both sides of the ball, this isn't the Ravens team everyone expected to see come the postseason. It's been a tough season for Ray Lewis, Haloti Ngata, Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs. None have consistently played at their previous All-Pro levels.
