Sunday's NFL Winners and Losers

The Eagles didn't just snap an eight-game losing streak. They may have found a quarterback as well. Even though rookie Nick Foles' huge day (381 yards passing, 3 total touchdowns) came against the league's 32nd-ranked defense, the way he rallied his team in the final minutes was something for Philadelphia to get excited about. Winners: Dallas ... For the second straight week, a team overcame adversity and showed incredible professionalism in the face of tragedy. Just over 24 hours after practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown died in a car accident, and nose tackle Josh Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter, the Cowboys rallied for a 20-19 win in Cincinnati. Winner: Mark San... The Jets quarterback didn't play great. He threw for just 111 yards, no touchdowns, no interceptions, and fumbled once in a 17-10 win in Jacksonville. But the embattled Sanchez did enough to silence the critics for a week, considering the Jets are now just one game back of the final AFC wild-card spot. (AP Photo/Stephen Morton)

Loser: Pittsburg... Pittsburgh won on the road in Baltimore last week without Ben Roethlisberger. It lost at home to San Diego, 34-24, this week with Ben Roethlisberger. And the game wasn't anywhere near as close as the final score indicates. Winner: Washingt... The same magic that the Colts seem to have also exists in Washington. Maybe it has something to do with the rookie quarterbacks, except that Indy's Andrew Luck is healthy while the Redskins' Robert Griffin III has a knee injury. Washington (7-6) rallied for a dramatic 31-28 overtime victory over the local rival Ravens with Kirk Cousins at the helm. They are now officially a threat to win the NFC East. Winners: The NFC... The entire NFC East won, even the Eagles. The Giants desperatly needed it Sunday afternoon after the Redskins and Cowboys won earlier in the day. A Giants' loss would have created a three-way tie for first place in the division. Loser: Bills' De... Buffalo let another one slip away. It blew a late lead in a 15-12 home loss to the St. Louis Rams, with George Wilson dropping a pair of potential game-ending interceptions. The Bills also allowed Sam Bradford and the Rams to convert two third downs and a fourth down on the drive. It just adds to the disappointing season for the Bills' defense. (AP Photo/Bill Wippert)

Winner: Adrian P... The Vikings' running back continues to amaze. This time he did so by topping 100 yards in the first quarter of an important 21-14 victory over the Bears. Peterson, who is still less than a year removed from shredding his knee, finished with 154 rushing yards and two touchdowns as he sets sights on the 2,000-yard mark. He even has the Vikings in serious pursuit of a wild-card spot. Minnesota is now tied with Chicago for the final playoff spot in the NFC. (AP Photo)

Winner: Indianap... The Colts really have something special going here. They improved to (8-1) in one-possession games this season after rallying for a 27-23 victory over the Titans. Losers: Arizona ... Arizona almost had as many turnovers (8) as first downs (10). They lost 58-0 in Seattle for their ninth straight loss. Quarterbacks John Skelton and Ryan Lindley combined for six turnovers. Skelton threw four interceptions and fumbled once. Lindley added a fumble as well. Loser: Detroit L... This Lions team really is something special. They lost their third straight game with a 10-plus-point lead, tying an NFL record. The tide swung when the ball just slipped out of quarterback Matthew Stafford's hand during a 27-20 loss in Green Bay. It's been that kind of season for Detroit, which has now dropped five straight. Winner: Cameron ... While San Francisco's Aldon Smith continued his assault on the sack record with two more on Sunday, Miami's Cameron Wake quietly did his thing. That included three sacks in the first half to balloon his sack total to 14 in 13 games this season. Too bad the Dolphins don't have an equivalent on the other side of the ball.
