But the Cardinals won three of the next four games with Skelton at quarterback and then two of their final three during another starting stretch. As the No. 9 overall pick in the 2010 draft, Spiller was so underwhelming as a rookie that there were legitimate concerns he would become yet another Bills first-round bust a la Aaron Maybin and John McCargo.
