American Women S... Shatter Record in 4x100m Relay Set in 1985

The U.S. team of Allyson Felix, Tianna Madison, Bianca Knight and Carmelita Jeter brought the U.S. its first Olympic gold medal in the sprint relay since 1996 with a time of 40.82, breaking the world record that had stood for 27 years.

Ramon Miller of the Bahamas surged ahead of USA's Angelo Taylor on the final lap to give the island country its first men's gold medal ever in the Summer Games. The U.S. had won the event at every Olympics it had participated in since 1976.

South Korea Take... Take Down Japan, 2-0

South Korea earned the bronze in soccer with a victory over Japan. (Watch Replay) However, the team may also be celebrating the fact that their Olympic medal means they are exempt from the 21-months of military duty that their fellow countrymen must serve before they are 29 years old. Medal winners get a pass because their endeavors are seen as beneficial to the country.
