Fact: Men With a Family History of Prostate Cancer Are at Higher Risk

Guys with a family history of the disease are twice as likely to develop prostate cancer, according to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The risk increases even more if he has a brother, son or father who’s had prostate cancer. The ACS recommends that guys with a family history start a discussion with their doctors at age 45, or by age 40 if more than one family member had prostate cancer.
