Say No to the Salt Shaker

Your body needs a little sodium to function, but too much causes water retention, which can make your belly bloated, says Hedericks. “The problem is, most women get nearly double the recommended 2300 mg a day,” she notes. Instead of trying to look up the sodium content for every item you eat, Henderiks recommends a simpler strategy: “Don’t use the salt shaker, and eat as few processed and prepared restaurant foods as possible. That way, you’re only getting salt from foods that naturally contain it.”
