Avoid Late-Night Eating

Busy women often make the mistake of eating dinner late at night -- but if you allow at least three hours between your last meal and when you hit the sack, you’ll notice a big difference in how flat your stomach looks in the morning, says nutrition journalist Sally Shields and author of the book, "Is She Naturally Thin? Or Disciplined? Insider Secrets of the Sexy and Slim!" “If you eat right before you lay down, the food doesn’t end up being digested properly, and leads to stomach-distending morning gas and stomach cramps,” she explains. To keep your tummy toned and taut, Shields recommends eating at least three hours before you hit the hay, and consuming easy-to-digest meals, such as grilled chicken, nuts and fruit rather than processed foods rich in saturated fat (think burgers and fries) that stay in the gut for long periods of time.
