Seriously, what are you doing with a 10 lb. weight in your carry-on? Aren't people supposed to be traveling lighter? That, and the baseball bats, and other sports equipment, can inflict some serious damage in the wrong hands.
And while the kangaroo-patterned boomerangs may look innocent, another officer clarified that they're deadly weapons. "When people fly out of Australia they're permitted in carry-on luggage," he said, but once you start on a domestic route in the US, you'll want to check them.
