Top Ten Most Shocking Grammy Moments

9. Jethro Tull (1989)

Grammy broadcast producers most likely booked Metallica to play their hit "One" during the 1989 ceremony with the foresight that the band would most likely win in the new category of "Best Hard Rock Metal Performance." However, in an epic upset, the flute wielding fantasy-rockers Jethro Tull ended up winning the award. Their win was so unlikely that not only did Jethro Tull skip the award ceremony, but when Alice Cooper and Lita Ford announced the winner, the audience responded with thunderous boos.
