Rock's Saxiest Moments

“Turn the Page,” Bob Seger

In a 2009 interview with the Wayne State University Press, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band tour manager Tom Weschler revealed the advice he gave to saxophonist Alto Reed before the latter laid down the now-classic riff in “Turn the Page”: "Alto, think about it like this,” he said. “You're in New York City, on the Bowery. It's 3 a.m. You're under a streetlamp. There's a light mist coming down. You're all by yourself. Show me what that sounds like." —Jeff Royer
