Why She Deserves It: Widely acknowledged as the most successful female singer of the 1970s, Ronstadt demonstrated that women could be rock stars, too. She was a viable stadium act and the highest-paid woman in rock during that era, a respected interpreter of songs who maintained relevancy through the decades with her genre-hopping contributions to more than 120 albums. —Jeff Royer
