"One is the natural side, which is about her being real and not wearing much makeup. Then there's her adventurous side, where I can put strong green shadows on her eyes and fuchsia or orange on her lips. Beyonce's got such incredible skin tone; she looks great in every color of the rainbow." And when it comes to her full mane, the singer loves to let loose. "She embraces huge changes completely," says hairstylist Luigi Murenu. Most recently, the 50-year-old star's transformed into a disco queen for her latest album, Hard Candy. Says Murenu, "She's way ahead of us all. By the time the rest of the world is raving about the 'new' Madonna, she's bored and ready to move on."
Queen Latifah's transition from rap royalty to beloved movie star has been as smooth as her voice. Despite a few misguided bouffants, her looks have evolved just as naturally. "She hates extensions," says Julie Baker, her longtime stylist. "She could wear a ponytail for the rest of her life and be happy." Roxanna Floyd, Latifah's regular makeup artist, says the star's skin "has undertones that adapt to light or super-deep colors. She likes subtle makeup, effortless glam." I was the girl who was like, 'Ask your mom if we can play with clothes or makeup,'" she has told InStyle. "And you know what? I'm doing the same thing now that I was doing when I was 10."
