Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child bandmate stepped out in 2011 with her third solo album, “Here I Am.” On the strength of the Lil Wayne-assisted single “Motivation,” the album debuted at No. 3, the highest charting position of her solo career. The album quickly sputtered, however, leaving the likeable Rowland stuck in the all-too-familiar purgatory of her post-Beyonce life.—Jeff Royer
