Nancy Sinatra - ‘These Boots Are Made for Walkin'’
The song Pitchfork called “maybe the finest bitchy kiss-off in pop history” has been covered by everyone from Jessica Simpson to Megadeth, but Sinatra’s menacing, flirty version remains the high-water mark.
Sample Lyric: “You keep playing where you shouldn't be playing / And you keep thinking that you'll never get burnt / Well, I've just found me a brand new box of matches / And what he knows you ain't had time to learn / These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do / One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you”—Jeff Royer
