Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael Jackson began performing as the Jackson 5 in 1964. Success was immediate, with the band’s first four major label singles (“I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save,” “I’ll Be There”) shooting to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100. Their stint on Motown made them a crossover hit, and set the stage for Michael to become one the most famous people on the planet. Despite Michael Jackson’s death in 2009, the group has never officially broken up, but hasn’t performed since 2001. —Jeff Royer
