In addition to the Miami mansion, Al Capone's far South Side Chicago home is on the sale block. The gangster bought the red brick, two flat house in 1923 after relocating from New York to work for Johnny Torrio. A controversial proposal to make it a historic landmark in the late 1980s never came to pass.

The Amityville '... Home: Ocean Ave., Amityville, N.Y.

The Dutch Colonial better known as the so-called Amityville Horror House was the real-life scene of a 1974 killing spree in which Ronald DeFeo murdered six family members as they slept. The home's original address, 112 Ocean Ave, was changed to protect the new owners' privacy after they purchased it in 1977. New buyers purchased the Long Island home in 2010 for $950,000.

This 1.4 acre parcel, free of electricity and running water, was formerly owned by Ted Kaczynski, also known as The Unabomber. Listed for $69,500 in 2010, the "very secluded" property was being offered sans cabin, since the original home is on display at Washington, D.C.'s Newseum.

Siegel never reportedly moved in, though local lore suggests a raiding party stormed the place looking to pick up the mobster for the murder of Harry "Big Greenie" Greenburg.

In 1980 Philly mobster Angelo Bruno was killed by a shotgun blast while sitting in a car in front of his rowhouse. His daughter reporetdly still occupies the three-bedroom residence and Bruno's driver-turned-successor John Stanfa apparently did the brickwork. The home came to market in 2010 asking $250,000 before slipping back off the MLS in 2011.
