Forbes: Homes with Notorious Histories and Criminal Pasts Come to Market
The Amityville 'Horror' House
The Dutch Colonial better known as the so-called Amityville Horror House was the real-life scene of a 1974 killing spree in which Ronald DeFeo murdered six family members as they slept. The home's original address, 112 Ocean Ave, was changed to protect the new owners' privacy after they purchased it in 1977. New buyers purchased the Long Island home in 2010 for $950,000.
