5. Shop for Tren...Some trends last, while others are destined to disappear from the minute they hit the shelves. Spend the bulk of your clothing budget on items you can update with modish accessories, and if you're going to buy trendy items, make sure you find the best deals.

6. Consider Colo...When building your wardrobe, focus on one or two color groups -- this will help you figure out what to buy and what you should avoid. Keep your current wardrobe in mind when you shop, and don't buy anything that won't go with at least two or three other items you own.

7. Shop for Vint...With so many past trends making a popular comeback, it's worth hitting your local thrift store to shop for vintage boots or jackets. You can also make money on clothes you don't want by selling them to a consignment shop.

8. Beware of the...All of those sale alerts and coupons can be doomed to result in overspending. Don't buy that $20 shirt unless you know you're going to wear it often.

9. Shop on A Wee...If possible, shop during the week. Thursdays are ideal -- you're likely to benefit from weekend sales by then, and you are able to choose from a big selection. By Sunday, your favorite stores might not have as much of a selection.

10. Care for You...A few extra minutes of care for each item ensures that your clothing will maintain that "new look" and last longer. Use gentle fabrics, avoid the dryer, and hang and fold clothes properly.
