Myth No. 1: Closing Off Rooms Saves Energy

When people used to use wood stoves or fireplaces as their main source of heat, they would close off other parts of the house so the heat would stay put. That doesn't work with today's heating systems. When you restrict the air flow through these systems, it'll make your unit run longer and harder to maintain a constant temperature.
