Norma Jeane Mortenson never aspired to be famous. Instead, she had reconciled herself to work at a munitions plant, where she inspected parachutes and sprayed airplanes to make them fire retardant. While she was working, however, a photographer for Yank magazine snapped a picture of Monroe to put in the magazine. He came back and told her that she was stunning and had the potential to go places. It was only then that Monroe decided to take acting classes and dye her hair blond.
