Kayla SloneJust over a month ago, 21-year-old West Virginia native Kayla Slone was a Walmart cashier, until her on-the-job country crooning was caught on camera by customer and posted on YouTube. Slone's amazing talent, as well as her dream of singing at the Grand Ole Opry, was soon broadcast to millions on ABC News. Last weekend, Slone, the wife of a coal miner, realized her dream when she took the Opry stage in Nashville to perform the Loretta Lynn classic "Coal Miner's Daughter." Jennifer Lawrenc...“The Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence recently discussed her chance discovery at the age of 14 while on vacation in New York. The Kentucky native was strolling through Union Square with her mother when she was suddenly approached by a talent scout who liked her look. “It wasn't creepy, he didn't ask to take me anywhere, he just wanted to take a picture,” she told the New York Daily News. “And then all these agencies started calling and then we just kind of went out of boredom. Lilly spent her young adulthood doing missionary work in the Philippines before becoming a flight attendant with Air Canada in order to pay for school. One day, while walking around Kelowna, British Columbia, Lilly was approached by a Ford Modeling agent. She initially declined the offer to model, but retracted her answer after learning how much money she would make. Marilyn MonroeNorma Jeane Mortenson never aspired to be famous. Instead, she had reconciled herself to work at a munitions plant, where she inspected parachutes and sprayed airplanes to make them fire retardant. While she was working, however, a photographer for Yank magazine snapped a picture of Monroe to put in the magazine. He came back and told her that she was stunning and had the potential to go places. It was only then that Monroe decided to take acting classes and dye her hair blond. With nothing better to do, he tagged along with a friend named Jackie Earle Haley on an audition for a horror movie called “Nightmare on Elm Street.” To his surprise, and his friend’s dismay, director Wes Craven spotted Depp in the background and asked him to read for the part of the protagonist’s boyfriend. Theron was attempting to cash a check from her mother, who was in South Africa, but was unable to do so since the bank refused to honor the international check. Theron reportedly threw a tantrum of heroically epic proportions, completely unaware that the man behind her was a Hollywood agent. A woman named Norma Shearer was visiting a ski resort owned by Leigh’s parents when she happened to notice a photograph of their radiant daughter.
