Hank Azaria became a regular cast member of "The Simpsons" during its second season. Prior to joining the show, 50-year-old Azaria had very little voice acting experience. He admits to basing his character's vocals off of preexisting sources, including Moe, whose voice is a gravelly interpretation of Al Pacino's voice.
In addition to Moe, Apu, Police Chief Wiggum, Professor Frink, Dr. Nick Riviera and Comic Book Guy, Azaria provides the voice for Carl Carlson, Cletus Spuckler, Kirk Van Houten, the Sea Captain, Superintendent Chalmers, Disco Stu, and Duffman. —XFINITY Entertainment Staff
