With wide aqua eyes like hers to show off, it's no wonder Julianne Hough is a bit of a lash addict. "I'll do a full strip of lashes and even add in individuals," she told us. "I go into the drugstore once a month and I just get all of them." The busy star learned how to apply makeup on the professional dance circuit (where she went for "a lot and not very blended") and, following a rigorous first season on "Dancing with the Stars," keep her enviable skin clear using Proactiv. (She's now a brand spokesperson—even boarding her tour bus sporting her favorite Refining Mask). Clearly, the "Footloose" beauty has learned to prioritize: "Slap some eyeshadow and eyelashes on and you're good to go!"

The Alta High senior sported the favored local look: "Utah is like the Mormon version of 'Jersey Shore,' because everyone goes tanning, they've got the makeup and they tease their hair."
"This was the worst photo ever taken," Hough joked of her first "Dancing with the Stars" portrait. "This was a period of time when I kind of just let them do what they wanted to with my hair and makeup." Now the two-time champion collaborates on her performance looks with beauty guru Troy Surratt.
"I love my makeup because it's so fresh," Hough said of the look she wore to the L.A. premiere of "Ocean's Thirteen." "And the ponytail is a little '60s—I've got the little bouffant going."
For the Emmy Awards, she got creative with a Campbell McAuley 'do. "He had to go and do someone else for the show, so he did my hair first and it was all down and curled and very beautiful," she said. "After he left, I put on my dress and decided that my hair would look better up, so I just pinned it up myself, and it turned out to be one of my favorite hairstyles." "
For the L.A. premiere of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," she tried a new shade of shadow: "I'd never done green and I wanted to do something cool and smoky to make my eyes really pop."
Hough went straight for the MTV Movie Awards—and added some depth to her bright blond hue: "I had just darkened my roots to make my hair look a little different."
"I had just been doing 'Footloose' and this auburn is the color of my character's hair," she said of the retro style she wore to the American Music Awards. And, aside from her bright fuchsia lip color, "My makeup is very soft—I literally didn't even have foundation on!"
"At the Golden Globes I was wearing a Marchesa dress that had an Egyptian goddess-type look, so we did lots of golds and bronzes," she said. "I had literally gone from dark, dark brown to that color the day before, my hair was really yellow so at every interview I was like, 'I just changed my hair—it's a process, it's a process.'"
