With last year's "Lincoln," Spielberg showed why he's still the most important director in Hollywood. The political tale easily could have been passed over by movie goers hungry for superhero action. Instead, the film was a hit earning $275 million globally. Less surprising was the movie's 12 Oscar nominations including one for Spielberg. The director has his fingers in many pies. Last year he executive produced "MIB 3" and his DreamWorks is still trying to make a go in television even though "Smash" was canceled by NBC.
