Singer Lauryn Hill stepped out of the spotlight for 12 years after the pressure of immense fame started to weigh on her following the release of her 1998 album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”
“I wanted a real life as well outside of public scrutiny,” Hill told Fuse. “I wanted that freedom to do whatever I wanted to do.” The singer was recently sentenced to three months in prison for failure to pay $1.8 million in taxes. —XFINITY Entertainment Staff
