Dominique Moceanu, then 14, was the youngest member of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. She quickly shot to international fame, earning a good chunk of money along the way. Moceanu left home in 1998 after she discovered that her parents were using her hard-earned money irresponsibly. After a nasty court battle, Dominique was legally emancipated and able to regain control of her earnings. The family has since reconciled. —XFINITY Entertainment Staff (AP Photo/Tsugufumi Matsumoto)
