Elizabeth at Sev...The Taylor family relocated from London to Los Angeles in 1939, shortly after the beginning of World War II. In California, Liz's impressive beauty caught the notice of Hollywood. She was reportedly considered for the role of Bonnie Blue, Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara's daughter in "Gone with the Wind," but her father wouldn't permit her to act.

Liz in 'Lassie'Taylor's father eventually came around (perhaps due to her formidable mother) and she landed a part in the 1943 film "Lassie Come Home" opposite Roddy McDowall. The two remained friends until McDowall's death in 1998.
