2. 'The Outlaw J...Brendan Wayne: "I loved that movie. [Josey Wales] didn’t wait. He was a man of action. I loved that he did one-liners. I love the way it was shot. It was, to me, so stark. Growing up as a John Wayne devotee, to have [him] challenged successfully by a completely different style ... This was a type of movie that only could have been made when it was made. The moral value wasn’t there for it. The fact that it challenged a whole different era, to be different and to push the limits as an artist—I appreciate the hell out of it." (Photo: Warner Bros.)

1. 'The Shootist...Brendan Wayne: "'The Shootist,' to me, might be the best picture [John Wayne] ever made. I think the fact that I know the story behind the scenes makes a bit of a difference. I know, in retrospect, that he was dying of cancer during the shooting. He was playing a character who was dying of cancer. They had to shut down production just so he could gather himself to finish. And then I watch his portrayal, and I watch it as an actor judging another actor, and I am so impressed by his ability to convey the confidence, the consideration. You get so many one-dimensional characters nowadays. He didn’t get enough credit for his ability to carry a multi-dimensional character." (Photo: AP)

2. 'Alien'Brendan Wayne: "It was just a brilliant movie. And Sigourney Weaver is just so sexy. I don’t care if the alien’s puking on her—she’s sexy. That’s one of my goals, to work on a movie with Sigourney Weaver." (Photo: Fox)

1. 'E.T.: The Ex...Brendan Wayne: "I waited 10 hours out in front of the Cinerama Dome to go in and see that movie. This was, obviously, before anybody had pre-bought seating. My sister somehow knew Pam Dawber from ‘Mork and Mindy,' and we were actually holding a seat for her as well. So that was really cool." (Photo: Universal)
