Best & Worst Movie Adaptations

4. BEST: 'Atonement'

The newest film on this list is also one of the best. Released in 2007, "Atonement" chronicles six decades of drama surrounding the Tallis sisters (the elder of which is played by Keira Knightley) and their interactions with the housekeeper's son, Robbie Turner (played by James McAvoy). This adaptation of the Ian McEwan novel delighted both critics and moviegoers and was instantly regarded as an example of novels done justice on the big screen. —Xfinity Entertainment Staff (Photo: Universal)
