Hasselhoff, now 62, fought for "Baywatch" after it was cancelled during season one. The former "Knight Rider" actor invested his own money and signed on as a producer, reviving the series for syndication in 1991. The ploy worked and "Baywatch" ran for 10 more seasons, eventually becoming the most-watched television show in the world.
In addition to a wildly successful singing career in Germany, The Hoff has appeared in various commercials, on several reality television programs and in a few Broadway shows.
Despite a public battle with alcoholism, Hasselhoff remains a Hollywood staple. He most recently served as a judge on "America's Got Talent" from 2006-2009, starred in the 2012 comedy "Piranha 3DD" and will reportedly helm a U.K. 2015 sitcom called "Hoff the Record." —XFINITY Entertainment Staff
