Officially, the new fall TV season is only three weeks old, so is it really possible to judge the new season’s winners and losers from among the new shows that have just been introduced? We don’t see why not – the TV networks do it all the time; they’ve already made their determinations about some of the new shows already, cancelling one of them and ordering a full season’s worth of episodes for a handful of others. Which shows are winning and which are losing? (Photo: CBS,ABC, NBC)

WINNER - "The Ne...We wouldn’t necessarily have suspected that a sitcom about two gay men seeking to have a child via a surrogate mother would catch on with mainstream audiences, but it’s “The New Normal,” right? Much as we’ve enjoyed the performances of the two male leads – Justin Bartha and Andrew Rannells – we’ve been even more intrigued by Ellen Barkin and “Real Housewives” alumna NeNe Leakes. They’ve helped “The New Normal” get a full-season order from NBC. Watch Full Episodes, Set Your DVR and Add to Queue here. (Photo: NBC)

WINNER - "Revolu...Ever wondered what the world would be like if all electric power suddenly ceased? Producer J.J. Abrams apparently wondered too, and the result was this new NBC series “Revolution,” which has nearly doubled the lowly ratings NBC had been getting in the troublesome Monday night at 10 (9c) time period. You might hail this show as a “revolution” in NBC’s Monday night fortunes. Watch Full Episodes, Set Your DVR and Add to Queue here. (Photo: NBC)

WINNER - "Go On"...Matthew Perry has struggled to find a TV show for himself ever since “Friends” ended in 2004. But this season, his career goes on with “Go On,” which is establishing a foothold on NBC Tuesday nights at 9:30, and earning a full-season order in the process. WINNER - "Nashvi...TV’s other new series named after a city has just taken up residence on ABC on Wednesday nights at 10 (9c), the time period previously occupied by “Revenge.” Well, the hour is proving to be a great spot to launch prime-time soaps because everyone’s already talking about “Nashville,” starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere – and it just premiered this week. WINNER - "Ben & ...Yes, another comedy – another full-season pickup. Can we be honest? This sitcom about grown-up sibs who take up residence together in the same house struck us as vaguely creepy when we first encountered this series. But what can we say? The powers-that-be at Fox like what they’re seeing so far -- so “Ben & Kate” is here to stay. Watch Full Episodes, Set Your DVR and Add to Queue here. (Photo: FOX)

WINNER - "Arrow"...CW's "Arrow" is hitting its target, and then some, drawing more than 4 million viewers for its premiere Oct. 10. That's an almost unheard-of viewership for a CW show and it's already earned the network's bow and arrow-wielding hero an order for a full season's worth of episodes. WINNER - "Vegas"...As long-time fans of mob movies and TV shows, we were stoked for this new take on the cops and criminals who battled each other in 1960s Las Vegas. And we happen to love Michael Chiklis too. With more than 11.5 million viewers Tuesday nights at 10/9c, CBS's "Vegas" gamble paid off. With CBS now ordering up a full season's worth of episodes, "Vegas" will be sticking around awhile. Watch Full Episodes, Set Your DVR and Add to Queue here. (Photo: CBS)

WINNER - "Elemen...We were skeptical when we first heard about "Elementary," this new CBS drama that moves Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) from 19th-century London to 21st-century New York, and gives him a comely female sidekick named Watson (Lucy Liu). But after just a few weeks on the air, "Elementary" has settled into its time slot Thursdays at 10/9c, drawing about 10 million viewers an episode and earning a full-season pickup from CBS. ON THE BUBBLE - ...Other than some glaring inconsistencies (such as the fact that the building they're using on the show is nowhere near Park Avenue), we see no earthly reason why this over-the-top prime-time soap on ABC about a New York City apartment building that seems to be some sort of portal to Hades shouldn't work. Alas, ABC's ratings are going to Hell in a handbasket with "666" following "Revenge" on Sunday nights at 10/9c. Watch Full Episodes, Set Your DVR and Add to Queue here. (Photo: ABC)

ON THE BUBBLE - ...Plausibility takes a holiday with this new ABC drama about a U.S. nuclear sub that goes rogue after the captain (Andre Braugher) refuses an order to launch a nuclear attack. The biggest strike against it: It just lost about a million viewers from a week ago to this past Thursday (where it airs at 8/7c). Will that be enough to sink this sub? ON THE BUBBLE - ...This sitcom about three men with children (yes, that's the premise) is doing only slightly better than its "Animal Practice" lead-in on Wednesday nights. This is one of those shows that just doesn't seem like it's catching on. Watch Full Episodes, Set Your DVR and Add to Queue here. (Photo: NBC)

ON THE BUBBLE - ...Talk about a weak link in a network's lineup -- the ratings for this new sitcom "Partners" (about two boyhood friends -- one straight, one gay -- who go into business together) forms a deep gully on CBS's Monday night lineup at 8:30/7:30c. It's a 5.7 million-viewer chasm between "How I Met Your Mother" (7.9 million) and "2 Broke Girls" (9.3 million). CBS can't be happy about "Partners." ON THE BUBBLE - ...This new firefighters' drama, seen Wednesday nights on NBC, seems watered down, especially when compared to the most recent firefighters' series on TV -- Denis Leary's "Rescue Me" on FX -- which was so critically acclaimed (and widely beloved). But with 6.6 million viewers this week in its debut Wednesday night at 10/9c, "Chicago Fire" improved on its "Law & Order: SVU" lead-in. That should keep "Chicago Fire" warm for a while. ON THE BUBBLE - ...Speaking of sketchy concepts, this ABC sitcom has a family of Earthlings moving to a gated community in New Jersey (Jersey? Again?) that happens to be populated by aliens from another planet. Viewers seem undecided about this one: With about 6.3 million viewers per episode at 8:30/7:30c, it's the weakest link in ABC's Wednesday lineup. LOSER - "Made in...Well, to borrow a phrase from an NBC series, the "biggest loser" so far this season has to be "Made in Jersey," the umpteenth attempt to launch a drama series about a young, feisty, street-smart Italian-American woman from New Jersey (see 2000's "That's Life"). This year's Jersey drama (starring Janet Montgomery) was the first show cancelled in the still-young, new season. Watch Full Episodes, Set Your DVR and Add to Queue here. (Photo: CBS)

LOSER - "The Mob...This Fox series about a young doctor in debt to the Chicago mob is already on life support, with ratings declining week by week. For some reason, no one's buying "My Guys" cutie Jordana Spiro as the spunky doctor who keeps her chin up while fending off various gangsters. Prognosis: Critical. LOSER - "Animal ...Now here's a doctor show we had high hopes for -- "Animal Practice" -- with Justin Kirk playing a bad-boy veterinarian with a monkey sidekick in a New York animal hospital. NBC recently cancelled the show and critics despised it, to which we have to ask: What do they have against monkeys? Watch Full Episodes, Set Your DVR and Add to Queue here. (Photo: NBC)
