Best Catharsis: ...Soapdom's biggest star last played her iconic character Erica Kane in 2011. Lucci told the press room that delivering a tribute to Erica during the ceremony helped her to say goodbye. "Tonight was very helpful. When the executive producer told me they wanted to plan a tribute to Erica Kane and to me, then I knew I would be able to say some things that had been in my heart and the Academy gave me that opportunity to stand on stage and to thank the fans and to say how much respect I have for this medium and how grateful and joyful I am to be part of it." Worst Cover Up o...Frankel, who was presenting a category honoring online videos, ran into trouble when the teleprompter was not properly cued up with the winner. Rather than vamping like a pro, the reality star turned talk show host announced to everyone that the screen was blank and she had no idea what to do. (Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images)

Best Scene Steal...Jack Hanna, inexplicably presenting with Debbie Gibson, brought his menagerie with him. When the winner was one of many no shows, an alligator crawled over to the statue and attempted to take a bite out of it. Gibson said of the on-stage zoo, "This is an awards show and it’s great that we’re honoring people’s work, but you kind of have to get out of your own ego, and your own way when you’re navigating a porcupine." Best Argument fo..."I’m not going to Disneyland. I’ll go to the bar." – on how she’ll celebrate her win. "It’s great to meet new people. One thing is there’s less for us to do, so that’s not so great." - on the new cast members that have been added to the show. "His Dad." (beat) "Finally." - on who was babysitting her son while she attended the ceremony. (Khalil is divorced.) When a reporter joked that her character, Lily, forgave her husband Cane, for lying to her because he was well endowed: "I can’t [lie.] That’s part of what keeps her there. I’ve done that before." Most Original Fa...Chapman wore a giant headscarf and sunglasses on the indoor red carpet. She explained her odd outfit thusly: "It’s a David Meister, but I had to put my own Hollywood vintage twist on it, with the jewelry and the scarf in honor of Norma Desmond and Vivian Leigh." Most Bad-Ass Emm...Most stars spend weeks consulting with stylists about the perfect dress. Not Wood, who was nominated for Outstanding Younger Actress. "I just went shopping today... I took my motorcycle. I went down to Rodeo Drive. I just started walking and luckily I found my Roberto Cavalli." (Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images)

Best Homoerotic ...Perhaps "Days of Our Lives" pulled off its upset victory because the judges were intrigued by the bizarre relationship between gay teen Will (Chandler Massey) and his former stepfather/boss/blackmailer E.J.(James Scott). Both actors admitted that there is something unspoken going on between the characters. Said Emmy-winner Massey, "Some of the dialogue, for example the episode that aired a couple days ago, we were talking about getting off a crime, but Will said, “E.J. are you going to get me off?” and E.J. says “I got you out of jail, but I never said I’d get you off.” We do play up kind of the natural chemistry that’s there." Scott acknowledged, "There’s a mentor-mentee quality. There’s a father-son quality. They’re adversaries. There is in some ways, I suppose, not an actual but a sort of sexual dynamic to the relationship as well." (Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

Most Spirited De...The Emmy winner for Outstanding Leading Actress did not mince words about the cancellations of other soap operas. "I think there’s an audience for this time of entertainment in the afternoon. There are only so many talk shows and cooking shows that people want to watch. These shows are a guilty pleasure and you can’t just replace them with something else because it’s cost effective." (Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images)

Most Daring Gown...LoCicero, who plays Olivia on the soap, wore a dress with a cut out near her bikini line. She described the preparations that went into wearing the skimpy, sexy dress. "This is vintage Emanuel Ungaro. I pulled it out of my closet because I wasn’t feeling like going shopping this year. It’s kind of sad when it’s now vintage and it was made when you were still alive, but it is what it is... I got a spray tan... That was my concession to vanity to match the dress. I tanned up my butt-white skin" (Photo: LisaLoCicero.net)
