1. Affleck, 'Argo' Get a Standing Ovation
Just days after being snubbed by the Academy Awards nominations, Ben Affleck took home the Golden Globe for Best Director for "Argo." And although Jessica Chastain won for her performance in "Zero Dark Thirty" and Daniel-Day Lewis won for his performance in "Lincoln," it was "Argo" that took home the prize for Best Drama Film. In a show of respect (or sympathy for his Oscar snub), the audience at the Beverly Hilton gave Affleck a standing ovation for his victory.—David Onda (Photo by Paul Drinkwater/NBCUniversal via Getty Images)
