While the world’s still trying to figure out what triggered Solange Knowles to go in on her brother-in-law, Jay Z, we’re reporting good news for ABC: Shonda Rhimes signed a four-year deal with ABC Studios and a new clip of the comedy “Black-ish” starring Anthony Anderson and Tracee Eliss Ross. Plus, there’s my watchlist and what’s hot (new fall shows slated) and not (Donald Sterling’s comments). Enjoy!

Here’s what’s cooking today: Katt Williams, officially out of retirement, will tape an HBO comedy special and Shonda Rhimes sets the record straight about recasting Harrison Wright on “Scandal.” Plus, there’s my watchlist and what’s hot (Michelle Obama’s latest tweet) and not (Jet magazine folding print edition). It’s the weekend and I have lots to share: My thoughts on the “Scandal” season 3 finale, “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes visits “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and my watchlist (“Orphan Black” returns!) plus what’s hot (Idris Elba and girlfriend welcome a new son) and not (Columbus Short’s recent radio interview). Enjoy!
Tell me there’s something in the water because there’s no excuse for the entertainment foolishness I’m sharing with you today. “Scandal” star Columbus Short apparently lost his damn mind, a “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star gets booked on assault charges and a rapper cuts of his penis and attempts suicide. I can’t make this stuff up! But here’s some good news: Gary Dourdan will be joining “Being Mary Jane” and “Glee.” And there’s also my watchlist and what’s hot (and not). Enjoy!
Happy Hump Day! I have a few things for you to nipple on today, including Kerry Washington dishing on what we can expect from “Scandal’s” season three finale Thursday, who’ll be stopping by Maya Rudolph’s new variety show and why Whoopi Goldberg dropped 30 pounds. Plus, see my watchlist and what’s hot (and not). Enjoy!
What a year to remember. The 2013-2014 film season will undoubtedly go down as a highlight for black TV and film. Lupita Nyong’o won her Oscar as did Steve McQueen, as a producer for “12 Years a Slave,” and John Ridley for penning that movie’s screenplay.
“Scandal” is back tonight with new episodes but the true scandal may be star Scott Foley’s new ad campaign for Charisma Luxury Towels, which I personally had never heard of before but, voila, they’ve suddenly got my attention!
There were plenty of memorable moments from the two-hour season finale of BET’s newest hit, “Being Mary Jane.” But only one was the standout for me. Read more to learn why.
The first half of Scandal’s season 3 made season 2 look like child’s play with the ever-escalating drama.
