It’s a surprise for the residents of Chester’s Mills when their loved ones come to visit after the military has prohibited any previous contact on tonight’s episode of “Under the Dome,” but there is a sinister reason behind it.

CBS’ “Under the Dome” was the favorite gathering spot for viewers last week, keeping this summer replacement thriller ahead of the pack for its third airing.
As if being trapped “Under the Dome” weren’t bad enough, now the people of Chester’s Mill are dealing with an “Outbreak” too in tonight’s pivotal episode of the CBS hit show.
The bodies keep mounting “Under the Dome.” First, there was the death of Julia’s (Rachelle Lefevre) husband, Dr. Peter Shuman (R. Keith Harris), at the hands of Barbie (Mike Vogel). That was due to a gambling debt dispute, so not really related to the dome, but it’s the reason that Barbie is trapped under it. Then there was the plane crash that killed all the occupants, and then, when Sheriff Duke Perkins (Jeff Fahey) touched the dome, his pacemaker exploded, killing him instantly.
When we spoke to “Under the Dome” executive producer Neal Baer last Friday, he told xfinityTV, “We haven’t met everybody yet. We haven’t met all the people who are going to play a role in this ensemble cast. We will meet some new people inside the dome. Like: What Oscar-nominated and Emmy-nominated performer will be caught under the dome? We haven’t said yet.”
It looks as if CBS has a hit on its hands. “Under the Dome,” which premiered Monday Night, debuted with an impressive 13.53 million viewers and a 3.2 rating among adults 18-49.
Whether or not it’s the event of the summer remains to be seen, but Stephen King’s thriller “Under the Dome” is coming to TV Monday night with murder, mayhem and a town out of control.
