Fox’s Tuesday night comedy block is safe for another year. The network announced Monday it has given early renewals to three series: “Glee,” “New Girl,” and “Raising Hope.”

In order to attract some attention to its temporary move into “Glee’s” timeslot, “Raising Hope” called on a big name to guest star: Katy Perry.

“Raising Hope” is bringing in a “Firecracker” of a guest star in the hopes of raising ratings. Katy Perry will guest star in an upcoming episode of the Fox comedy, the network announced Wednesday.

On a Valentine’s Day Tuesday that saw overall viewership down across the board, the season premiere of ABC’s “Cougar Town” took a particularly hard hit, dropping 47 percent versus its last season premiere.

The “Glee” club is getting a long winter break: Fox said Friday it will sideline the musical comedy for nearly two months to make room for a new Tuesday night comedy block.
