If you haven’t seen H.P. Mendoza’s 2012 horror film “I Am A Ghost,” you’re in for a Halloween treat. The award-winning film stars Anna Ishida as Emily, a ghost trapped in her own house, and she carries the entire film as the sole cast member — other than the disembodied voice of Sylvia (Jeannie Barroga), a clairvoyant hired to rid the house of spirits. The resulting story, influenced by films including “Picnic at Hanging Rock” and “Poltergiest,” is an eerie, haunting delight.
“Ek Villain,” stars Sidharth Malhotra and Shradhha Kapoor and is directed by Mohit Suri. This is first big release for Shraddha Kapoor after the stupendous success of the Mohit Suri directed “Aashiqui 2.” It is also the first time that Riteish Deshmukh will be seen in a character with grey shades.
Perhaps the biggest news last week was that Archie Panjabi announced she’d be leaving “The Good Wife” at the end of this season. Panjabi won an Emmy in 2010 for her portrayal of fan favorite Kalinda Sharma, and audiences may also remember her from her work on “Bend It Like Beckham” and “A Mighty Heart.”
