“American Horror Story: Freak Show” has a premiere date of October 8th on FX and the network released the first trailer which gives us just enough of a tease to want to see more. Well done!

Days Of Our Lives:” The drama escalated this week and the conflict that Freddie Smith (Sonny) previewed to us recently has now come to a head as the DiMera expose written by Sonny’s husband Will (Guy Wilson) has been published. Wilson talked to me for TheBacklot and gave us a glimpse of what we’ll see now that this little article has created a huge mess in Salem. (“Days Of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.)

Andrew Rannells in 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch'

Andrew Rannells: The openly gay star of “Girls” and “The New Normal” was back on Broadway last night to kick off his eight-week run in the Tony-winning musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.” I talked to Rannells earlier this week about taking over the role from Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris. He told me about the first time he saw himself in full Hedwig dress and makeup, how he’s getting used to the heels and he also gave a little sneak into what we’ll see in the fourth season of the HBO comedy “Girls,” where he’s now a full time cast regular. (“Girls” premieres in early 2015)

Paley Center Celebrates LGBT Equality: One of my favorite places in Los Angeles is the Paley Center For Media, which celebrates television and everything about it. Their Fall Preview series is coming in Beverly Hills and New York City, but I’m even more excited about their first LGBT Gala Benefit.  The Gala, a fundraising event celebrating television’s impact on LGBT Equality, is co-chaired by Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi and will be held on November 12th at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. For more information, the Paley Center website has all the information. See ya there!

Grant Gustin: The star of the new CW series “The Flash” (and who played gay villain Sebastian Smythe on “Glee“) takes the ASL Ice Water Bucket challenge and still manages to be adorable. (“The Flash” premieres October 7th on the CW)

“Breaking Bad” Reunion: For those of us missing the AMC series, which ended last fall, stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul showed up in an online reality show spoof playing Buzz and Randy Jackson in Barely Legal Pawn. In the short, actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus shows up to pawn her “Seinfeld” Emmy. Hilarious! All three are Emmy winners and the short serves as a fun way to promote this Monday’s 66th Annual Emmy Awards. Enjoy! (Watch for my Emmy Preview tomorrow right here!)

Misha Collins Birthday: TheBacklot.com offered up 10 gifs that show why we love the LGBT-friendly star of ”Supernatural.” Truly awesome collection.
