Carmen Luna ended season three of “Devious Maids” by discovering her new lover Sebastien, played by Frenchman Gilles Marini, is a married man. Roselyn Sanchez, the Puerto Rican star whose played Luna for two seasons, readily admits her life isn’t as dramatic but she’s having a whole lot of fun bringing the character to life on the small screen.
Xfinity Latino caught up with Sanchez at the Venue Cover Party held at the Cavalli Miami Restaurant and Lounge this week where she celebrated being the glossy’s July/August cover girl alongside novela stars Mauricio Henao and Gabriel Valenzuela, and singers Justin Quiles and Christian Acosta.
This season you got close to Matt Cedeño, shared a bed with Gilles Marini, and when you wrap up your day, you get to go home to your handsome husband, Eric Winter. How good is it to be Roselyn Sanchez?
“Aren’t I a lucky girl?”
The final episode wrapped with Sebastien confessing to Carmen that the music producer he is introducing her to is in fact, his wife. What good can come of this?
“You know I don’t know. Marc Cherry is very secretive. I know that he’s coming in as my love interest but there’s this obstacle: esta casado! [laughs] Que ridiculo! I think it could play out amazingly though. I was texting today with Gilles and we were saying how hopeful we are that the show comes back so we can do some funny and compelling stuff together.”
If you had your choice to cast anyone for the role, who would you like to see play Sebastien’s wife?
“Nobody! [laughs] I don’t think they’ll hire a Latina. There are so many wonderful actresses out there but I’m not sure who I’d to see in that role. I’ll have to think about that one.”
Speaking of another season, what have you heard about the show being renewed?
“Nothing yet, but we’re hoping. I think we’ll back for another one. There’s is still a lot more to see from Carmen Luna!”
